Forest Products Industry

The Forest Products Industry (FPI) organization at Omya serves the entire value chain of fiber-based products. Whereas Omya previously focused on the paper and board industry, the activities of the Forest Products Industry organization are now much more widespread.

Starting with the nursery and maintenance of timber plantations, the value chain continues through the production of fibers and the production and finishing of fiber-based products and ends with the finished product itself. These activities in the fiber-based value chain are supplemented with products and services for secondary processes, such as waste or effluent treatment or the desulfurization of flue gases.

With the establishment of the Forest Products Industry organization, we are making inroads into new application areas – both for Omya's own calcium carbonates as well as various auxiliary chemicals which we also distribute. The general principle of FPI is to act with "one face to the customer" using Omya's expert know-how in various industries and applications.

Furthermore, the Forest Products Industry organization aims to effectively utilize Omya's key competencies in fiber and mineral processing in order to better serve all stakeholders in the forest industry value chain as a true solution provider.
