Plantation of timber

  • The yield from timber plantations depends strongly on the climate, the species and also the proper supply of nutrients. Apart from the primary nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, secondary elements such as calcium and magnesium and micro nutrients such as copper, zinc, manganese, boron and iron play a major role
  • For example, eucalyptus is the typical grade for cellulose production in South America and is very sensitive to a lack of boron, zinc or copper. It has a high demand for calcium and magnesium ions in order to guarantee an optimal yield
