BASIC FUNCTION:
Implement segment specific strategies and new business initiatives (new product launches, roll-out etc.) in the Region Americas, in order to increase sales and profits from Market Development & Innovation. Drive growth of new products, ensure regional availability, actively searching for new business opportunities including Merger & Acquisition and Distribution. Initiate and manage Innovation and New Business Development activities in the Region Americas for the Construction segment. Acquiring of all market- and technical facts and figures in Region Americas relevant to the Construction segment (market intelligence).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy Development and Implementation

Develop and implement strategy for innovation offerings and high-value product portfolio for CON segment in Region Americas, in line with global segment strategy and priorities.

Seek new approaches for value extraction (e.g. new route-to-market).

Define future product portfolio needs based on market trends and future needs, and provide input for product innovation funnel accordingly.

Develop and implement Marketing Communication strategy for Construction segment in Region Americas, in line with global strategy.
Business Development

Assume full ownership and lead Omya’s market development & innovation activities for the CON segment in Region Americas in line with global segment strategy and priorities.

Establish strong relationships with regional sales teams in Region Americas. Introduce prioritized MDI offerings and transition ownership of developing new business to local sales teams after effective training and support.

Prepare and drive roll-out and launch initiatives including development of sales materials and conduction of sales training sessions in Region Americas

Push sales ramp-up of recently launched products all the way through their growth phase till maturity.

Provide ongoing support and guidance for CON high value offering portfolio in Region Americas.

Adapt value propositions, guide formulation, brochures etc. according to specific regional needs to ensure effective marketing materials and sales packages for key solutions and offerings.

Provide guidance for pricing & value-in-use for MDI offerings to the regional sales teams.

Drive branding discipline in line with CON segment brand handbook and push for rebranding initiatives in Region Americas as needed.

Ensure maintenance of rolling forecast (RFC) for recently launched products for Region Americas and feed into S&OP process.

Interface with Production and Supply Chain to ensure regional availability of new and young products.

Effectively promote CON MDI offerings in the region (active participation in trade shows and conferences, use of digital channels)

Identify new business opportunities for segment CON in Region Americas and translate into action (propose innovation project, push for M&A, new distribution business etc.)

Establish high-level, significant relationships with potential customers, partners, key decision-makers, and industry leaders to promote the organization’s products and services.

Cooperate and lobby with relevant industry associations and authorities with focus on regulatory and SHE topics

Interface with IP and Regulatory teams to ensure legal compliance for putting new product on the market.
People Management

Effectively manage priorities of members of the CON MDI team in Region Americas in line with regional segment priorities and global segment strategy.

Provide dynamic leadership to the regional CON MDI team to achieve established sales and business development goals.

Guide and coach the team through change management and drive their engagement.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration and/or in relevant Technical/Engineering area and a minimum 10 years of relevant business experience.
Personality with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated success in Product Management or Business Development.
Project Management skills and proven track record of successful execution of complex projects, proven effective leadership and communication competencies including the ability to interact effectively and sensitively with individuals from a range of backgrounds and at all levels
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, effective team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently with high level of self-motivation. Solution-oriented and proactive approach.
Excellent command of both oral and written English. Spanish language is highly preferred.
Frequent business travel in the region and occasionally beyond (30-50%, on a need basis)
The work location for this role is flexible if approved by “Company” except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado, California and New York.
Must possess current US employment authorization; sponsorship not available for this position.
