Application experience

    Furnish: Blend of ONP, OMG, and super-calendered papers.

    Solution: 3% GCC added through the pulper resulted in higher dryness before entering the oven, improved dimensional stability, and a lower reject rate.

  • Protective packaging for small appliances and parts

    Furnish: Blend of pre-consumer newsprint and a small amount of OCC. 

    Challenge: Difficult time drying finished products due to mold design. 

    Solution: GCC added at 8% and 16% loading improved drainage and fully dried the finished parts. Molds needed cleaning every 30 minutes instead of every 15-20 minutes.

  • Thermoformed finished products

    Furnish: Blend of ONP and OCC. 

    Solution: GCC added at 5% loading increased dryness before pressure and steam application by 2%, reduced cycle time by 8%, and decreased defoamer usage by one-third.
