Position Summary
The role of the Site Specialist supports the Service Delivery of the central and local DTX Services in the respective region.
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in Service Operations (RUN) and Solution Design & Implementation (BUILD) activities.
Ensures a high quality and stable Service delivery and project execution
onsite in the designated Omya locations, often in close cooperation with on-site Automation and Engineering staff to support the Plant Operation.Key Accountabilities
- Supports the smooth and efficient delivery of DTX Services in Omya locations (plants, offices, warehouses, etc.) within his region.
- Supports the successful and timely execution of projects as a Subject Matter Expert related to the scope of DTX services within the Omya location in his region.
- Act as Site Contact for the respective Omya location defined and provide or organize required Hands & Eye support to support the successful delivery of DTX Services. This includes but is not limited to:
- Hardware Asset Management including device replacement, Break/Fix & stock availability/accuracy.
- Provide accurate data inventory to include regular Inventory checks in comparison to the AMDB status and to initiate the necessary corrections.
- Software Asset Management, acting as consultant for local requirements.
- Printers & other site-specific hardware & peripherals.
- Provide support for local IT/OT or Facility Applications where required and agree upon between DTX Management and local business management, including license management for local IT Applications.
- Support the execution of local IT Procurement tasks including necessary approval and financial processes in adherence with DTX and local procurement guidelines.
- Support the management and control of local IT service providers and respective contracts.
- Ensure the readiness, maintenance, support and improvements for on-site server room and other IT facilities critical for the local IT&OT Service Delivery including but not limited to cabling, UPS, local security measures, air conditioning, fire protections etc.
- Act as a contact for the local business for any kind of request and escalations and ensure that the responsible DTX teams are informed accordingly in time.
- Ensure that UpToDate documentation about the Omya entities and the respective DTX Service environment is available and/or made available to stakeholders.
- Actively support the obsolescence planning and execution of local IT or OT hardware and systems DTX is responsible in aligned with the Service Owners and Service Managers, including budget planning.
- Be informed about local compliance requirements and ensure that responsible Service Owners are informed in time.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- University degree in Computer Science or related field or similar proven track record.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience of IT / OT Service Operations working in a multinational environment (preferably for manufacturing units in mining companies).
- Experience in IT Project Management and Project Execution
- Experience working in a matrix (IT) organization.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong experience and thorough understanding of IT and OT Infrastructure and Applications in a Plant Operations.
- Good understanding of Industrial Control Systems and related technologies like PLCs, MES, SCADA, HMI.
- Strong technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure technologies.
- Experience in supplier and partner management.
- Good communication & collaboration skills.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
Other requirements
- Ability and willingness to work as member of a virtual and global IT team in a matrix organization.
- Recent Certification in ITIL v3/4 and Certification in Project Management is an added advantage.
- Fluent in business English.
- Ability to travel (mainly to plants within Malaysia and occasionally to Singapore).
