Join our team in Barcelona as an Artificial Intelligence Lead and be Responsible for creating business value from data and strategizing with all business functions to support Omya's digital transformation. It designs, plans, oversees, and enhances the organization's data management functions.

As the Artificial Intelligence Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Take a hands-on approach to leading and managing the development and implementation of AI strategies and initiatives (Use Cases) across the organization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of AI technologies, aiming to improve business outcomes, optimize operations, and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Be responsible for developing and governing our data strategy to propel business and product development through a data-driven decision-making journey. This includes creating AI products, procedures, and policies, and collaborating with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, protect, and analyze data assets. Your role will ensure the company adheres to industry best practices and complies with legal standards.

AI Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement the company's AI strategy aligned with business objectives and market trends.

Team Leadership: Lead a team of AI specialists, data scientists, engineers, and developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive innovation and achieve departmental goals.

Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Data Governance: Develop and implement robust data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. (AI Law Europe compliance)

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance and effectiveness of AI solutions, conducting regular assessments and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Education:

  • Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or similar areas.
  • Master`s degree in Business Administration or Information Technology, advanced studies in Data Science/Analytics is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Certifications in AI, data science, or project management (e.g., PMP, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in English


Experience:

  • Proven 8 years of experience in AI strategy development, implementation, and project management within a multinational corporation or similar environment.
  • At least 8 years in management roles being able to manage stakeholders' demand and expectations, project execution, and people’s career development as Senior level concern for Data issues in a multinational company.
  • 5-8 years experience managing and/or directing Artificial intelligence solutions, projects, Architectures, and proposing technical solutions.
  • Understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data security principles.

Abilities:

  • Proficiency in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and other AI technologies and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data science principles, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in building and leading teams.
