Recently founded Omya Performance Polymers Distribution will be making its official debut at K 2025, showcasing its expansive portfolio of specialty polymer materials, unrivalled polymer expertise and latest innovations in the sector. Omya Performance Polymer Distribution brings together Omya's global polymer distribution network and recently acquired Distrupol - a European leader in the sales and application development of thermoplastic polymers, rubbers and elastomers.

 

The synergistic unity of these entities will even further support the demands and challenges of the evolving global market.

Omya is committed to sustainability, integrating calcium carbonate into plastics to boost performance and lower carbon emissions. Our pre-consumer recycled grades, including food-contact approved options, support circularity and regulatory compliance.

 

We’ve developed breakthrough technology that allows calcium carbonate to be safely used in engineering materials and sensitive biopolymers, overcoming previous processing limitations. This innovation makes those plastics more affordable and scalable, accelerating the shift to greener materials.

Omya continues to innovate for the breathable film market, expanding its portfolio to meet market needs. It now introduces next-gen ultra-thin breathable film grades—supporting efficient production with strong film performance. 

 

Calcium carbonate was rarely used in fiber production due to technical challenges. Omya has now commercialized its use in nonwovens, textiles, and carpets—cutting costs, reducing environmental impact, and offering industry-specific performance benefits. This innovation enables greater efficiency and new opportunities in manufacturing.
