BASIC FUNCTION:
Omya Inc., the world's largest producer of fine ground calcium carbonate, is currently seeking qualified individuals for a new Sales Agronomist position in the Mid-Atlantic market (NY, PA, VA, W VA, NC, SC, GA, AL, and FL). The successful individuals will have responsibility for supporting sales or various Omya and agency products in their respective regions into the agriculture market and assist in managing the quality and consistency of such products as well as service delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote calcium carbonate and agency products such as mineral additives.
- Offer technical service assistance in the agricultural industry.
- Perform regular customer and potential-customer visits.
- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the regulations impacting the agricultural market and our products.
- Maintain and develop thorough knowledge of product technical information and uses of Omya and agency products in specified geographic region for agricultural applications.
- Maintain close collaboration with corporate business development & marketing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy or related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the industry or equivalent combinations of education, training and experience are required.
Existing relationships with key agricultural distributors/retailers are a must.
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills to persuade and influence others. Adept at negotiation with a strong sense for customer service. Solid knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
Thorough understanding of the agricultural products industry. Willingness to travel up to 40% and work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and overnight travel, as necessary.
The work location for this role is flexible if approved by “Company” except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado and California.
