Discover how to extend the service life of SMP sealants with advanced light and heat stabilization

In recent years, the adhesive and sealant sector has seen remarkable advancement through innovative technology based on silane modified polymers (SMP). These materials deliver exceptional performance by merging durability with sustainable characteristics. Their composition offers formulators extensive customization possibilities, making them increasingly popular in modern bonding applications.

In this webinar, we will showcase how tailored light and heat stabilization solutions can address the limitations of conventional technologies in SMP sealant formulations. The results highlight improved UV and thermal stability, extended product lifetime, and enhanced sustainability without compromising performance.

Attend the webinar on the 24th of June, 14:00 CET

Why should you attend:

  • Learn how to extend sealant service life in SMP, hybrid, MS and SPUR applications using advanced light and heat stabilization.
  • Discover ways to simplify formulations and reduce stock‑keeping units (SKUs) while maintaining long‑term performance.
  • Understand how to limit yellowing, cracking, and durability loss under demanding outdoor and high‑temperature conditions.
  • Gain practical formulation insights and real‑world examples relevant to construction sealant systems.

Advancing durability in SMP sealants

While silane modified polymer (SMP) systems represent a modern approach to bonding, their UV and heat stabilization often relies on legacy technologies, leaving clear room for innovation.

Together, Clariant and Omya have developed a tailored light and heat stabilizer solution designed to enhance sealant durability. By extending service life, this approach offers a practical and cost-effective way to improve sustainability in applications where recycling remains challenging.
