Talc replacement webinar

Register for our webinar on September 15 and learn how to replace talc with ecolabel-compliant minerals while maintaining high performance in decorative paints and coatings.

How can you meet ecolabel requirements as talc faces regulatory reclassification?

Paint and coatings manufacturers are under increasing pressure as talc faces stricter regulatory scrutiny. Its recent classification as “probably carcinogenic to humans,” along with potential EU hazard classification, creates uncertainty around product safety, labelling, and long-term compliance. In addition, ecolabel requirements—such as the EU Ecolabel—prohibit the use of substances classified as carcinogenic, making talc-containing formulations increasingly incompatible with sustainability goals and market expectations.

Talc replacement webinar

This webinar addresses these challenges by presenting practical, proven pathways to transition away from talc without compromising performance. Omya’s advanced mineral solutions, including calcium carbonate and kaolin from Burgess, enable formulators to meet evolving regulatory and ecolabel requirements while maintaining key properties such as opacity, durability, and scrub resistance. Discover how to confidently reformulate, ensure compliance, and develop high-performance, future-ready coatings using safe and sustainable alternative.
