BASIC FUNCTION:
This position will support the market development of the water and wastewater business in the Region Americas, in particular US & Canada. The ideal candidate will provide technical sales input and support, assist with market development and ultimately generate sales for the Water business segment of Omya.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, evaluate and implement the application of water and wastewater products and solutions across the US & Canada.
- Understand and address both technical and commercial challenges.
- Conduct in-person sales calls to prospective customers
- Develop the initial product implementation through to the generation of revenue.
- Provide on-site support during product trials
- Analyze and interpret data, making technical judgements to further projects.
- Gain a commercial and technical understanding of competitor/alternative products
- Propose and drive processing and technical solutions to industry challenges.
- Provide customer (internal and external) assistance and training.
- Remain current on wastewater and water industry developments
- Build commercial and technical understanding of target applications and industries suitable for Omya products.
- Demonstrate initiative in finding and pursuing potential customer leads, attending trade shows and conferences, initiating contact with various industry professionals to gain market knowledge and grow technical network.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, business, marketing or equivalent related science or engineering discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of field and laboratory experience in the technical wastewater treatment process, knowledge and understanding and application support.
Ideal location for this position will be in the Midwest or East Coast states.
Technical: engineering skills for the application of products into the wastewater and water treatment process.
Marketing/Sales: understanding of wastewater business and market.
Must possess an innate curiosity and drive to clearly identify relevant market issues and seek to achieve logical and commercially viable solutions.
Verbal and written English fluency is required. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
The work location for this role is flexible if approved by “Company” except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado and California.
Must possess current US employment authorization; sponsorship not available for this position.
