Position Summary

Implement Asia Pacific wide specific product management strategies aligned with global & regional business strategy. Actively develop, manage, and promote the product portfolio with the Asia Pacific sales team to provide complete solutions for customers. Steer and drive pipeline and lead regular performance review meetings with principals. Monitor overall performance of OPP within their product scope and act with constant improvement tasks. Provide best-in-class service for our customers & principals.

Key Accountabilities

Principals’ management

  • Assess regional product offering and portfolio fit; set segment strategy.
  • Lead negotiations and volume initiatives (Sales & Purchase Agreements).
  • Make strategic decisions on warehouse setup and purchasing; drive cost improvements.
  • Prepare quarterly review meetings; analyse performance and share planning insights.
  • Act as liaison with Sales and sparring partner during customer visits.
  • Align and implement principal business strategies, including reporting and rolling forecasts.

Customers and market

  • Define and communicate value proposition and product positioning.
  • Provide training and guidance to sales; set priorities.
  • Segment customers and classify A-B-C; monitor market activity.
  • Drive innovation pipeline and commercialization.
  • Manage pricing and terms (price list review/approval); optimize margins.
  • Oversee budget execution and profitability; implement demand sensing and forecast validation.

Product & Portfolio Management

  • Manage and implement product launches with sales and supply chain teams.
  • Drive divisional portfolio strategy aligned with global and regional management.
  • Identify and assess new principals/products, supporting regional opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop the divisional portfolio.

Sales & Marketing Strategy

  • Support sales teams with pricing strategy, performance monitoring, and margin optimization.
  • Provide pricing guidance to sales teams and purchasing guidance to supply chain teams.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing plans.
  • Drive sustainable and profitable business growth.

Compliance & Training

  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all product lines.
  • Maintain and provide access to required certificates and documentation (TDS, SDS, etc.).
  • Organize product training sessions for customers and sales teams with principals.

Market & Business Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Track business performance and optimize margins.

Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Manage procurement communication and negotiations with principals.
  • Monitor and review inventory regularly, addressing slow/non-moving stock.
  • Define minimum and target stock levels in coordination with supply chain management.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Polymer Science or equivalent in a related field.
  • A Master’s degree (e.g. MBA or MSc) is considered an added advantage.
  • At least more than 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Experience in the Polymer industry is a mandatory.
  • Prior experience working in a matrix organization is a plus.
  • Clear track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Team-result driven.
  • Self-starter who can create and execute own direct sales engagements.
  • Must be adept at negotiation and customer service.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do mentality, combined with an autonomous, creative and self-motivated mindset
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills.
  • Good project management structure.
  • A pragmatic, solution-oriented, and hands-on mindset with a drive to deliver success while meeting timelines without compromising on quality.
