Lab Supervisor

Description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Lab Supervisor to lead our laboratory operations in Moerdijk. In this role, you will ensure the highest standards of quality control, product integrity, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. You will supervise a small team, oversee daily lab activities, and play a key role in supporting production and technical services.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee quality control: sampling raw materials and finished products, performing tests, and reporting deviations.
  • Manage product preservation: adding biocides when necessary and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Prepare, ship, and archive samples; maintain the sample room.
  • Monitor and record wastewater and filtrate measurements.
  • Adjust off-spec products to meet specifications by adding chemicals or mixing.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Perform manual tank measurements for monthly and weekly reporting.
  • Prepare loading plans for shipments and calculate tonnage.
  • Organize documentation and analysis for incoming sea vessels.
  • Manage waste separation, storage, and disposal according to regulations; report monthly figures.
  • Control chemical storage per CPR guidelines and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Conduct analyses requested by technical services and report findings.
  • Lead and coach the lab team, ensure adequate staffing and skill development

  • HBO-level laboratory education in process technology or physical chemistry.
  • Solid experience in quality control and lab operations.
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with lab systems (MLab, ESIS).
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).

Fulltime position, 37,5 hours
