Key Responsibilities:
The scope of this role is to maintain and improve the quality and safety processes for food and industrial products across Australasia. Key accountabilities include (however are not limited to):
The scope of this role is to maintain and improve the quality and safety processes for food and industrial products across Australasia. Key accountabilities include (however are not limited to):
- Understanding food and industrial product quality and safety practices and processes across the area including:
o laboratory testing methods,
o equipment calibration,
o product specification and safety data documentation,
o good warehousing and good transportation,
o traceability and quarantine,
o complaints and nonconformity reporting, and
o corrective actions.
- Assist with the completion of:
o process mapping,
o writing and implementing plans and procedures,
o audits and inspections,
o product regulatory, product specification, and safety data documentation,
o coordination of laboratory equipment calibration and servicing across the area,
o GMP, HACCP, FAMIQS, Organic Certification and other certification requirements, and
o quarantine and recall of nonconforming products.
- Overseeing consistent effective document control / record management.
- Responsible for ensuring information contained in documents and reports are accurate and of good quality, and applied in a timely manner.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of:
o customer complaints,
o in-process/ production quality of products (e.g. CPK of internally produced products),
o sampling plans and both internal/ external,
o product holds, traceability, and recall testing, and
o warehousing and transportation services (both internal and external).
Delivering information (including reports), instructions, and training to management and staff.
- Analysing and reporting on key metrics, performance indicators and trends.
- Follow-up up-to-date on nonconformities and corrective actions, and inform key stakeholders using the appropriate channels.
- Supporting customer service and sales by:
o completing questionnaires and ensuring a prompt review,
o providing accurate and current advice/ information, and
o ensuring traceability of all submitted records and documents.
- Overseeing regulatory and compliance matters, by:
o ensuring safety data sheets, product specifications and product regulatory documentation are current and compliant with the relevant requirements,
o ensuring that product certification and/or compliance is achieved in a timely manner and by using the appropriate channels,
o coordinating with relevant Omya personnel (locally and globally) where applicable,
- Safety, Health, and Environment, by:
o supporting SUS colleagues as required basis,
o developing knowledge of safety, health, and environmental policies, regulations, procedures and skills to enable future career growth within Omya,
o assisting with investigations, and rectification of nonconformity or preventative actions, and
o assisting with audits and maintenance of the Integrated Management System to the International standards ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001.
- Others, by:
o where appropriate, conducting benchmarking exercises to determine industry best practices and facilitate continuous improvement across the area,
o contributing to a positive and harmonious work place culture which aligns with the Omya Values (Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance),
o taking immediate action to control environmental, health safety, quality risks and prevent incidents, and
o pro-actively participating in cross-functional duties when required including SAP tasks for production and maintenance.
