Omya Neutramaxx is a ready-made product that can be used as a direct replacement for 50% caustic soda solution. It is safer to use than caustic soda and offers greater operational efficiency for both neutralization and precipitation processes.
Omya Neutramaxx has a much longer shelf life than other liquid limes because of its low viscosity and stable rheology profile which does not increase over time.
It is a free-flowing product that maintains a homogenous suspension in unstirred storage conditions for over three months, eliminating the need for agitation and reducing the clogging of equipment.
Omya Neutramaxx is more efficient than caustic soda for neutralization and precipitation processes. It enables faster settling and better dewatering of precipitated sludge, as well as reduced flocculation dosages, resulting in bulk chemical savings to plant operators. It can be direct dosed into wastewater streams without additional make down or powder dosing systems.
Unlike caustic soda, Omya Neutramaxx is non-corrosive and is not classified as a dangerous good under the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. This makes it safer to handle, store and dose, reducing risk for customers and distributors, particularly during storage, transfer and repacking.
Omya Neutramaxx maintains a homogenous suspension in storage for more than 3 months, without the need for mixing or recirculation. This enables simpler storage and dosing, removing the need for the messy and unsafe handling practices associated with powdered lime. Omya Neutramaxx reduces plant maintenance from clogged pipes or equipment as it does not leave residue.
