Your questions answered

High temperatures can hinder flower bud differentiation, reducing potential fruit set. Pollination is also compromised as heat affects pollen viability and germination. Continuous high temperatures lead to fruit sunburn, uneven ripening, and increased susceptibility to diseases. Protecting fruit against heat stress will protect yield, improve quality and protect profitability for the grower.

A plant biostimulant is defined as a product which stimulates plant nutrition processes independently of the product’s nutrient content, with the sole aim of improving one or more of the following characteristics of the plant or the plant rhizosphere: nutrient use efficiency, tolerance to abiotic stress, quality traits or the availability of confined nutrients in soil or rhizosphere.

Calcium nutrition is essential for cell wall strength and stability. Sufficient calcium supports plant resilience, protecting fruit from physical damage and deficiency symptoms like blossom end rot. Adequate calcium uptake enhances fruit firmness, prolonging shelf-life and reducing spoilage. It also mitigates stress responses, aiding in consistent fruit development. A continuous supply of calcium during fruit development leads to high-quality, marketable fruits that meet consumer expectations.
