Position Summary

  • Responsible for Supply Chain Management process in area to ensure optimization of values to the company and customers and the delivery of agreed Supply Chain Services at optimal cost, efficiently and on time. 
  • Lead Logistics and Customer Service functions to achieve best performance and efficiency. 
  • Ensure cohesive work of Customer Service, Logistics teams, Sales and Operations for the objective of On Time Order Fulfilment in Full. 
  • Implement group and regional SCM policies.

Key Accountabilities

Logistics Management (Area) 

  • Manage logistics cost efficiency (inbound and outbound) and processes; ensure efficient and timely inbound and outbound logistics for import and domestic Logistics. 
  • Coordinate with suppliers, intermediaries, 3rd party logistics providers, operations and customer service to discharge logistics and warehousing functions. 
  • Strategize and plan for effective and timely execution of distribution of finished goods to meet On Time Order Fulfilment targets.
  • Manage on time order fulfilment for all finished goods distribution. 
  • Review logistics cost every quarterly to identify and measure possible cost savings. 
  • Manage outsourced logistics companies and transporters effectiveness. 
  • Manage inventory holding cost and inventory adequacy. 
  • Deliver and report costs & performance responsibilities. 
  • Regularly review distribution network and its optimization potential (import / export location, mode of transport, replenishment frequency, etc.) 
  • Regularly review Customer order pattern to assess cost improvements. 
  • Establish cost effective raw material transportation and storage. 
  • Ensure synergy between transporters and Omya warehouse so that wasted resources are kept to a minimum. 
  • Adopt best practices in warehouse processes. 
  • Ensure sufficient inventory checks and strong processes to ensure inventory accuracy. 
  • Manage the supply vs demands of finished goods of countries within area.

Customer Service Management (Area) 

  • Interface with regional customer service and liaise between Sales and Operations. 
  • Manage customer service roles and its efficiency. 
  • Closely liaise with customers to establish customer relationship to meet requirement of the customers. 
  • Oversee customers' claims and its compensation follow up. 
  • Coordinate the order management business, assuring efficient order handling and short response times. 
  • Analyse and optimize workflow within the CS department. 
  • Ensure that the CS team is guided, trained and organized. 
  • Assure maximum service mindedness and a friendly, professional communication style to all members of the team. 
  • Monitor claim management and compliance (assure registration and follow-up). 
  • Assure service from 8:00 till 17:00 on normal working days.

SCM Performance 

  • Manage performance indicators of countries within area, including plant performance, sales forecast performance, product quality and logistics service. 
  • Manage effectiveness and efficiency of S&OP processes relating to customer service and logistics roles. 

Representation & Communication 

  • Represent SCM in the area and related area management team meetings for all SCM matters (Customer Services & Logistics and Planning & Optimization). 
  • Function as a single point of contact for all SCM issues within the area. 
  • Facilitate communication interface between CS, Logistics, Sales, Product Management, Finance & Controlling, etc. and responsibility for the purposeful distribution of relevant information.

People Management 

  • Lead, manage and develop SCM team by setting and monitoring objectives, training and development, recruitment, performance review and mentoring. 
  • Establish proper training and education to ensure adequately skilled teams. 
  • Ensure that employees receive all required safety training and that all safety rules and requirements are strictly adhered to. 
  • Create a talent management process in coordination with HR to ensure that the right resources are in place. Monitor and stimulate team spirit.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • University (Degree) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, i.e. customer service, logistics, warehousing and procurement. 
  • Relevant working experience with multinational companies.
  • Solid team management/leadership experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • High degree of focus towards cost efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Ability to balance priorities and result driven. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills across different cultures. 
  • Ability to contribute and work in teams. 
  • Good analytical and managerial skills. 
  • Out of the box thinking and good solution provider. 
  • Familiar with ERP systems SAP knowledge is a plus 
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills. 
  • Effectiveness and efficiency in Supply Chain Cost Management. 
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business processes and organization.
